Spring Jewellery Auctions

The image above shows the Third Imperial Egg created by Faberge for Tsar Alexander III as an 1887 Easter gift for his wife Tsarina Maria Feodorovna. It was thought to be lost to history until purchased by a scrap dealer at a jumble sale for US$14,000. It subsequently sat on a kitchen shelf for years until he worked out what it was. The egg was sold for an amount in the vicinity of US$30 million.

The reality is an occurrence like that may happen once in a generation.

However, a well organised and well bid auction is an outstanding way of releasing capital from any precious jewels you no longer wear.

I am now consigning items for our forthcoming Spring Jewellery Auctions. I am looking to consign every level of jewellery; from silver and semi-precious stones to fine diamonds and handmade pieces. So, with a high gold price and a buoyant auction market, now is the time to determine which of your little treasures you would like to rehome.

If you live in a regional centre, I would be happy to organise a jewellery valuation day in your town. I will bring my microscope, scales and other gemmological equipment in order to provide an accurate appraisal for any piece you might like to show me. I will be able to consign your jewels on the day and take them back to Sydney. As usual, your jewels will be covered by my insurance whilst they are in my care.

If you’re one of our city clientele then now is the time to go through your jewellery box and see if you have any items you would like to set free. I would be happy to provide you with an appraisal here in our showroom.

A Little Pair of Pearls Can Make a Big Difference

I’m sure most of you have noticed how we make a point of donating South Sea Pearl Earrings to our various charities and organisations in regional New South Wales and Queensland. If you have ever wondered how our little pearl earrings could ever make a difference to a regional community, then here is your answer.

We are determined not to be fair-weather friends and will proudly continue supporting our friends and clients in regional communities through thick and thin. With the promise of warmer months ahead, I’m sure some of you would be planning charity events. If you would like our support or send us an invitation please call us on 02 9299 1117.

Polo in the Country

The Goondiwindi Polo Tournament is a super fun carnival of superfast polo and it is almost here! So now is the time to organise your weekend away and reserve your tickets for the Long Lunch on the 10th of August. We will be there to award a pair of our beautiful 18ct gold South Sea Pearl earrings to the best-dressed lady on the day.

To be in the running for the earrings you need to be wearing a hat, a jacket or blazer and a pair of boots. If you also happen to have children under the age of five and live west of The Great Divide it will certainly help your cause…
We are also providing the trophy for the Most Valued Player; a sterling silver horseshoe keyring which is our own original design made exclusively for the tournament. So, there really is only one way to get that keyring.

If you would like to join everyone at the Goondiwindi Polo Tournament Long Lunch email Claudia ( claudiacochrane94@gmail.com ) to reserve your tickets.

A Day in Moree

The black soil plains west of Moree are spectacularly flat. The only reason you know they don’t extend forever is that the sun eventually sinks beneath them.

I will be at The Town & Country Club on Friday the 5th of July from 10am with a beautiful selection of Diamonds, Pearls and fine handmade jewellery if you want to have a perusal, play dress up or perhaps even take home a little treasure.

Repairs and Remakes

If your jewels need some care and attention please bring them in while I am at Henry’s. We will be able to assess what repairs need to be completed. I will be happy to provide all the design and stylist advice you might like if you’re considering breathing new life into your jewels

Consignments and Appraisals

I will also be consigning jewels for auction and providing appraisals while I am in town. So, if you would like to know what your jewels would achieve at auction please make an appointment for Saturday the 29th of June.
