Despite losing to Mr Dimitrov in 4 sets it was a ferocious battle played in searing heat and something of a pyrrhic victory for Grigor Dimitrov.

If on the other hand, Mr Kyrgios decided to invest in a pair of fine gem quality diamonds of E colour and VVS clarity then those diamond studs could have cost up to A$50,000.
Yes, perhaps Mr Kyrgios will create a generation of young men wishing to emulate him by shaving their hair and wearing large diamond stud earrings.
