Nick Kyrgios’s diamond stud earrings

In the fourth round of the recent Australian Open, Nick Kyrgios then ranked No.17 singles player in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals played possibly the best match of his career against Grigor Dimitrov ranked No.3. Despite losing to Mr Dimitrov in 4 sets it was a ferocious battle played in searing heat and something of a pyrrhic victory for Grigor Dimitrov.

Nick Kyrgios played the entire match in a very attention seeking pair of diamond stud earrings.

Mr Kyrgios is 1.93 metres tall so those diamonds would be a significant size which I estimate at 1ct each.

It is difficult to tell from the image but the diamonds appear to be at least white stones of G colour or H colour. If we assume the stones possess a moderate clarity; SI2 or Si3 then those studs would have cost in order of A$20,000 to A$25,000. If on the other hand, Mr Kyrgios decided to invest in a pair of fine gem quality diamonds of E colour and VVS clarity then those diamond studs could have cost up to A$50,000.

Yes, perhaps Mr Kyrgios will create a generation of young men wishing to emulate him by shaving their hair and wearing large diamond stud earrings.

The first auction for the year will be held on the 12th of February so if you have been thinking of re-homing some of your jewels during the Christmas break now is the time to bring them into the showroom for an appraisal.

We would like to wish you a joyful and prosperous New Year and look forward to seeing you soon.

That time of year…

Yes, its that time of year again! Annabelle, Alicia and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being our customer and supporting our business. We wish you and all your family a safe and happy Christmas.

We will finish this year on Friday the 22nd of December and open for business, bright and early, on Monday the 8th of January.

We look forward to seeing you again in 2018!

Kate Middleton’s diamond and pearl earrings

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is the wife of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge. Prince William is second in line to succeed his Grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, as monarch of the United Kingdom and 15 other Commonwealth realms thus making Kate Middleton a very likely future Queen Consort.

Kate Middleton is one of the most stylish and influential people in the modern world.

Kate is pictured here wearing a very simple yet elegant pair of diamond and pearl earrings. Those diamond studs Kate is wearing appear to be half a carat each. The pearls beneath them are 12mm drop shape South Sea Pearls. I would also suggest the pearls are detachable from the diamonds, giving Kate the option of wearing the diamond studs on their own.

Diamonds and Pearls

White, bright half carat diamond studs start at $6,500 while 12mm South Sea Pearls start at several hundred dollars for drop shapes and $3000 for perfect round pairs.

While that might seem like a lot of money, it will be possible to wear your diamond studs every day of your life and be as stylish as the future Queen Consort.

No, you can’t put a price on that.
